What type of movement does the chronograph have?Updated 16 days ago

At Hilts, we select movements that best suit each watch in our collection. Here's what powers each of our collections:

Precision Chronograph Collection (Speedway, Monaco 29, Sarthe 70)
Our chronographs are powered by the Citizen Miyota 6S21; a high-precision quartz movement celebrated for its exceptional accuracy and long-term reliability.

We chose quartz for our chronographs deliberately. A chronograph is first and foremost a precision instrument, and quartz simply outperforms mechanical movements on accuracy; to within ±15 seconds per month, regardless of how you wear it or store it. No servicing required, no sensitivity to temperature or position. Just consistent, dependable timekeeping.

The Miyota 6S21 also delivers a genuinely satisfying tactile click on the chronograph pushers; a feature more commonly associated with high-end mechanical watches.

Hero Diver & Heritage Aviator Collections
Our divers and aviators are powered by Swiss-made Sellita movements with customized rotors. Built in Switzerland to exacting standards and personalised with Hilts' own signature touch.

Sellita movements are widely regarded as among the finest Swiss mechanical movements available, used by respected watch brands the world over. The custom rotor is one of those details that sets a Hilts watch apart; visible through the caseback, it's a small but meaningful expression of craft and identity.

The Hilts philosophy on movements:
We don't believe any one type of movement is inherently superior. What matters is choosing the right movement for the right watch. Precision timing deserves quartz accuracy. A dress watch or diver deserves the romance and craft of a fine Swiss mechanical. We make that choice deliberately, every time.
